About this Blog

My interest is to present my reasearch findings and reflections, contributing to the wider debate about smart cities in the global South or technology and Informality. I will try to offer an alternative view of the smart city paradigm, critic to the mainstream approach and recentered on the citizens – the smart citizens.

I’m expressing my views, which are for the most part funded on scientific papers and expert contributions on the subject. Please note that I will not follow a style for academic publishing but of course I will reference the most particular and relevant contributions.

About me: I graduated in architecture in Lisbon in 2008 and since then I work in Berlin as an architect. Since 2013 I’m also engaged in urban design projects and in 2014 I started a masters program in urban design at the Technical University of Berlin. This blog is in fact my work for the course Smart People and Urban Commoning, which requested students to publish their work or engage with society.
